DESSO

DESSO is a Dutch manufacturer of high-quality carpet, carpet tiles and synthetic grass. The company is the first carpet manufacturer to apply the extremely radical Cradle to Cradle environmental programme to its products and processes.

'Cradle to Cradle' takes its inspiration from nature, where everything is reborn again and again. DESSO aims to apply this process throughout its entire range of carpets, continuously creating new cycles of biological and technological ‘nutrients’. At the end of their life-cycles the constituent parts of the carpets are either completely biodegraded or recycled to provide new raw materials for new goods.

 

DESSO has commissioned Wilkens c.s. to provide the translations for its website and various brochures, in a wide range of languages including French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Russian.

T.M.C. Asser 

The T.M.C. Asser Instituut is an academic centre for research, legal advice, postdoctoral education, and publications in the field of international and European law. The institute carries out fundamental and applied research in the following areas: private international law, law of nations (including law of international organisations), international commercial arbitration, European Union law, international humanitarian law, international economic law, international environmental law and international sports law. 

Wilkens c.s. provided the translation (from Dutch into English), DTP, proofreading and printing of the publication “European Sport’s First Collective Labour Agreement” for the T.M.C. Asser Instituut. This book deals with issues surrounding employment contracts for professional footballers. Tightly organised project management was a key factor in this project as a large number of different tasks needed to be carried out within a very short time frame.
