Additional Services

Our core activity is translating. However, we are also happy to solve your other language-related questions. See below for more information regarding our additional services.

Rough translations for internal use

This service is recommended if you only need to have a rough idea of what a text is about, or if the translation of your document is intended for internal use only. The revision of the translation by a second translator is not carried out, thereby cutting costs.

Text revision (linguistic and/or stylistic)

If you have written a text yourself, you can send it to us to have it checked for spelling and grammar and to be corrected where necessary. We can also adjust the stylistic level of your text if required. We can supply this service for almost every language.

DTP

Wilkens c.s. is able to provide text layout using a range of DTP programs; this is handy for standard languages, and even more so when it comes to less-standard languages such as Arabic or Chinese.

Automated layout

If you have large amounts of text that need translating and laying out – for example manuals, product catalogues or training documents – you can opt for automated layout. We use InDesign Server to process the text directly within the layout and you are able to make your own corrections online. The results are immediately visible, and you save time and money.

Proofreading
Before a text can be sent to the printers it is recommended that it be examined by a proofreader. It is not unusual for mistakes to creep in during the layout phase. We ensure that such faults in your publication are corrected before printing.

Summarising
(both oral and written)
You want to know the essence of a text, but you don’t need a verbatim translation? A summary may be just the answer to your need. We can provide the salient points of the text for you, in oral or written form as required.

Secondment of Translators

If your texts for translation are so confidential that you would prefer them not to leave your premises, we can send a translator to work for you on location. This also applies to translations which need to be entered directly into your own specialised software, for example.
